The DeFelsko 10 mm Dolly is a loading fixture used in Pull-Off adhesion testing to evaluate the resistance of paints and coatings to separation from the substrate.

During the procedure, the dolly is bonded to the coated surface using a suitable adhesive. After curing, the Pull-Off tester applies a tensile load perpendicular to the surface until failure occurs or the specified test limit is reached.

With a diameter of 10 mm, this dolly is particularly suitable for very high bond strength coatings. Its smaller loading area allows significantly higher Pull-Off stress ranges than larger dollies when used with compatible equipment, stand-offs and settings.

FUNCTION DETAILS

10 mm Diameter
The smaller loading area allows very high bond strength coatings to be evaluated using compatible Pull-Off adhesion testers.

Higher Pull-Off Range
When used with compatible systems, the 10 mm dolly allows substantially higher pull-off stress levels than standard 20 mm dollies.

Tensile Adhesion Testing
Transfers the tensile force generated by the Pull-Off tester to the coating during adhesion strength measurement.

Adhesive Bonding
The dolly is bonded to the coated surface using a suitable adhesive and the recommended surface preparation and curing procedure.

Quantitative Assessment
Allows the stress sustained by the coating system before coating, interface or substrate failure to be measured numerically.

Failure Mode Assessment
