The DeFelsko PosiTest LPD Basic Kit is a low-voltage pinhole detector designed to verify the integrity of non-conductive coatings applied over conductive substrates such as metal and concrete.
The test uses a moistened, electrically energized sponge that is moved across the coating. When the sponge encounters a pinhole, holiday, crack or other discontinuity that provides an electrical path to the substrate, the circuit is completed and the instrument provides audible and visual alerts.
The PosiTest LPD is suitable for coatings up to 500 µm (20 mils) thick and provides four test configurations for compatibility with different inspection procedures and standards.
Detection of pinholes and holidays in coatings;
Identification of cracks and coating discontinuities;
Inspection of coatings on metal and concrete substrates;
Quality control of paint and protective coating systems;
Low-voltage wet sponge continuity testing;
Inspection of coatings up to 500 µm (20 mils) thick;
Professional inspection and industrial maintenance routines.
Recommended for coating inspectors, quality-control professionals, maintenance teams, service providers and industries that need to verify the continuity and integrity of protective coatings.
