The DeFelsko PosiTest HHD C is a high-voltage Holiday Detector designed to locate pinholes, holidays, cracks and other discontinuities in non-conductive coatings applied over conductive substrates such as metal and concrete.
The instrument uses continuous DC technology with an adjustable voltage range from 0.5 to 30 kV. During inspection, the electrode is moved across the coating while the detector monitors for an electrical path between the electrode and the grounded substrate.
The PosiTest HHD C features an integrated voltage calculator that allows the coating thickness to be entered to assist with determining the appropriate test voltage according to the applicable inspection procedure.
Detection of holidays in protective coatings;
Identification of pinholes, pores, cracks and coating discontinuities;
Inspection of non-conductive coatings on metal and concrete substrates;
Quality control of industrial coating systems;
Inspection of pipelines, tanks, structures and coated equipment;
Verification of coating integrity before commissioning;
High-voltage inspection of coatings suitable for the method.
Recommended for coating inspectors, quality-control professionals, maintenance teams, service providers and industries that need to verify the continuity and integrity of protective coatings.
